Simcoe Park – @ Simcoe Park- 8th and Royal
4 plots for communal use by garden society members
4 plots for societies/groups
30 plots for garden society members of which 4 will be raised for accessibility
Mary Mount Garden @ St. Mary’s Anglican Church 121 Columbia Street
3 plots are designated for community groups and the food bank. In 2011 The Girl Guides of Canada joined our society and are gardening in a community group plot. Two other plots are communal and we are growing them for the food bank. 12 plots are for garden society members. All 15 plots are in raised beds for better access for everyone.
St. Mary’s Park Garden
There are 20 plots.
2-4 will likely be designated for use by students/teachers at Ecole Qayqayt Elementary and/or other community organizations
2-4 will likely be designated as “donation” plots, and volunteers will grow food to be donated to local food banks/soup kitchens
2-4 will likely be designated at “communal plots,” crops that will be grown and shared by all members of the Society.
All plot designations/organizational decisions will be made by members of the Society’s steering committee, members in conjunction with the City of New Westminster.
